 Korea has very fast economic development after the Korean War in 1950. According to the world bank and Korean bank, Korea ranks 14th by GDP scale. Though South Korea is a very small country which is even smaller than Georgia State in USA, we have some good smartphones, electronics, reasonable price cars, vessels, and steel industries. There has been Korean companies' potential. So I am going to post some Korean companies in this post!



 #1 Samsung Electronics

 I think many people know Galaxy series smartphones. Samsung Electronics is the world largest manufacturer of mobile phones and smartphones. This company is also a major vendor of table computers and is generally regarded as pioneering the phablet market though Samsung Galaxy Note family of devices. It has also been the world's largest television manufacturer since 2006.




 #2 LG Electronics

 This is rival with Samsung in Korean Market. Usually LG is second position behind Samsung, those days LG home appliance is outacting Samsung. You may also see LG G3 smartphones. LG's product usually has better design and lower price than Samsung.



 #3 Hyundai Motor Company


 Hyundai Motor group is the world's fourth largest vehicle manufacturer in the world and owning 32.8 % subsidary Kia Motors. It has launched cheaper and good quality cars in many international market.

Korean Best#5 Movies

 Hello. Korean is making good movies more and more. I really like Hollywood movies, either but Korean movies have their own attractive point. Of course, the scenes and sensitivity of movie are very different from Hollywood because we have different culture. How about watching some nice movies from East Asia? It will be new and memorable experience for you. In addition, many movies are provided on Netflix with English subtitle.



#1 The man from Nowhere


 This is an action, crime, and drama movie. It is like 'Man On Fire' or 'Taken'. Wonbin, the main actor is going to fight with evil gangsters in order to rescue little neighbor girl. The main actor is considered as the best handsome guy in Korea!






















#2 Masquearde



  It's background is Chosun Dynasty which was a Korean dynasty five hundreds years ago. This movie is based on fact, but has many fiction. I can talk about more about this movie, but if you know so many thing, it would reduce the fun in this movie, right? haha. This movie is pretty well-made one ,and has fun and charge. It also shows what politics is pursued by Korean.




















#3 Joint Security Area


 As you know, Korea is divided as South and North Korea. It has been already more than sixty years, and it is natural that we have some movies about this. This movie is about a miserable story between North Korean and South Korean soldiers at border. You will be able to feel some message from director.




















#4 Old boy
 It has Japanese cartoon original work. This is about a desperate revenge. This movie made headline by awarding Jury prize at Cannes International Film Festival. There are many action and extremely expressed emotions.. Old boy is a masterpiece. Try watching it now!





















#5 200 Pounds Beauty


 Were those movies a bit gloomy or so serious? I am sorry about that! I will find more bright Korean movies later! haha. So this is a light and comedy movie! It satirizes Korean plastic surgery craze. You will have many fun in this movie I bet.

Korean Best#4 Pop-song

  Hello! I want to post about K-Pop now. As you know, K-pop is really famous in many countries. However, many popular songs are performed by Korean Idol group who are young, pretty or handsome. The idol songs are just a part of many awesome Korean songs. So, now I want to post different kinds of best Korean songs chosen by me. Hahaha. All tastes of music is up to individual, so these songs might not be good.

Busker Busker - Cherry blossoms ending
This song reminds me of romantic spring. Though this song was released 3 years ago, whenever the spring comes, this song always ranks high in K-pop billboard chart. Busker Busker is K-pop band. They finished second in SuperStar-K which is the biggest singer audition program in Korea. The main vocal Beom-jun Jang's falsetto sounds like cherry blossoms rustled in the spring breeze.

10cm is an acoustic guitar singer group. Their song really stimulate my sensitivity especially at night. You might have a sweet and happy night with this song!

Traveling Korea#4 Jeonju

 Jeonju is famous for abundant Korean Table Menu and traditional house town.



#1 Korean Table Menu in Jeonju
 

  Korean table menu has many kinds of side menu. When you got this table, you will just be happy. You will feel tons of tastes of Korean healthy food which you have never tried before. The foods are very sincerely made and tastes neatly. There are meat, seaweed, vegetables, Kimchi, almost every kind of food ingredients to eat.


 #2 Jeonju Hanok Maeul (Korean traditional house town)






This town have been developed in pretty shorter period than other Hanok Maeul in Korea. This town was build almost 100 years ago, so those are urban-style Hanok. It is developed to fit urban environment and system.  Here are 543 Hanok and 2,202 population. Korean elites started to build this Korean-style town against pressing Japanese town construction during Japanese colonial era.














#3. Jeondong Seungdang (Jeondong Catholic Church)


 This is made in 1908. The architecture style is Romanesque. Due to the Beautiful style, this church is frequently used for wedding place or movie filiming site.

Korean Best#3 Beverage

 Do you like alcohol? Whenever we need to make a mood smoothly and enjoy the night, we need alcohol! Korean really love to drink, and as you know, drinking beverage with so many Korean delicious food is really big fun! Samgyupsal with Soju, Chicken with Beer, Pajeon with Makkurry, so many good combinations! That's why I am going to introduce Korean alcohol in this post.



 #1 Soju

 This is Korean national beverage.  I want to say this is like a mild Vodka. This is made by diluting ethanol with water. The alcohol proof ranges from 15.5 to 35. Mostly there are two type of the most popular Soju. First one is Fresh Soju having 22 proof, another one is Classic having 17.5 proof.


Usually people use small glass for this alcohol, and drink it at once. Drinking like this is pretty cool! When you are with your good friends or lover, otherwise you are with delicious foods, you cannot stop drinking Soju. This become deliciously sweet when you are in good mood! Hope you can understand what I mean sooooon! In addition, the 360ml bottle in the first picture is just one dollar at the market.




This is fruit-tasted Soju. Like a vodka, Soju can be mixed with many sweet fruit juice. In many bars, they offer this kind of Soju. But watch out! While you are enjoying this, you may be drunken
involuntarily.












 #2 Beer


 This is Korean beer. Actually Korean beer have very low malt, almost 11%. It is very different from other countries's beer like German beer with 100% malt and Japan Beer with 66%.  So Korean beer is pretty light and refreshing. We love to drink very cool beer.

Somack

This is another Korean popular drink Somack, the blended beverage of Soju and Beer. It is called Bomb alcohol. Many people become drunken with this one. We put the one shot of Soju to the Beer. This makes pretty awesome taste! Also, this taste is made with only Korean beer which doesn't have strong beer flavor.










#3. Makkurry







This is our traditional alcohol. Some people call this Korean Rice Wine. It is made by adding yeast with rice or flour and then fermented. This is very sweet and fun. Usually we use traditional style bowl to drink this. The proof is 6 to 8! Also, Korea has many Makkurry bar which have traditional design.

Korean Best#2 Festivals!

  

Korea has many awesome festivals!
Today, I am going to introduce the best three festival, of course, it is ranked by me :)

#1 Bo-ryeong Mud Festival

 Korea has a great mud flat which is scarce all over the world. Our western side sea, the Yellow Sea is famous for big tides and broad mud flat. So, Boryeong city in Chung-cheong province, are hosting a big mud flat festival in Daecheon beach. Last year, it attracted 3.2 million visitors, and almost 10% of them are foreigners. It is held usually during 8 to 9 days in July.
 There is a mud spa, mud sliding, mud prison, mud ski, military training experience at mud flat. Visitors can enjoy mud massages, body painting, fireworks festival, and several performance there. See the pictures! You will be covered fully by mud! However, you know what? Mud is really good for your skin, after having really crazy and happy time here, your skin become really softer! For sure, it is temporarily, if you want to keep your skin soften, you could immigrant here :) The mud in this festival are purified before moving to here, so you don't have to worry about it! Come to Boryeong Mud Festival and enjoy one of the most unique moment in your life, and take a bunch of good pictures!








 #2 Jinju Namgang Yudeung Festival





 Yudeung is a lantern fueled by oil. This is a beautiful night show on the river. This is originated from the first Jinju castle battle during the Japanese Invasion of Korea in 1592. In October, 1592, General Simin Kim won a signal victory with 3,800 soldiers and the people agianst 20,000 Japanese soldiers. In the war, the general float lantern on the Nam river with other supporting army like raised in the cause of justice in order to block Japanese Army from crossing the river. In June 29th, 1593, there was second Jinju castle battle, finally the castle was fallen and almost 70,000 people died. After this war, Korean start to this event to comfort the spirits and pray peace of the country. There are many exhibitions like traditional lanterns, world institutions and customs, performance reproducing the battle, and parade. Visitors can make their own lantern and look around wonderful lantern display.








#3. Hwacheon Sancheoneo Ice Festival

Sancheoneo

 Hwacheon Sancheoneo Ice Festival is chosen as the Seven Wonder Festivals of the World by CNN. You can enjoy fishing, delicious Sancheoneo cooking, sled, and bobsleigh.
Sancheoneo is a kind of trout which are belong to salmon family and living in clear water.
 The river is two meter depth and really clear, so you can see many swimming Sancheoneo below the thick ice.

 The main event is ice fishing, catching fish with bare hands. This fish has been recognized as specialty and health food for a long time. Usually visitors can get one or two fish easily because there are 12,000 ice holes and 1 to 2 tons of Sancheoneo is there.

 The bare hand fishing is really interesting because you should catch the quick moving fish by bare hand! You can use free BBQ grill to make baked fish or use some close Sashimi center which fillet your  fish. The sashimi of Sancheneo tastes really soft and chewy. During the cold winter, how about visiting here with your precious people and seizing the amazing day!

Traveling Korea#3 Busan

 

Busan is second biggest city in Korea. It is famous port city and locates in southeastern part of Korea. Busan people is famous for speaking brusque but actually having many human affection. Busan food is famous for the wonderful tastes in Korea. There are many modernized area and romantic sea, so visiting Busan would be a great choice to you!



#1 Gwangallli Beach

Gwangalli Beach has a beautiful bridges. Some Korean says it is more beautiful than Golden gates in San Francisco. At night, several LED light makes the bridge look different at a time. This beautiful beach has many fancy restaurant, cafe, sashimi restaurant, so you can enjoy the sea conveniently! I bet drinking beer here is really awesome!

 On every October, there is 'Busan International Fireworks Festival' which is the biggest scale firework festival in Asia. To see this, approximately more than one million people visit here every year.











#2 Nampodong PIFF street & Jagalchi Market

Ssiat-Hodduk

 In my opinion, Nampodong PIFF street is a downtown where you can feel 'Busan' very well!
Here is a commercial complex full of market, department store, theaters. It is famous for a lot of street vendors.You can enjoy shopping, walking around, eat delicious foods. I recommend you
try SSiat-Hodduk on the road. This is like a pencake with black sugar, peanut, sunflower, and amber seeds.

Jagalchi Market

Jagalchi market is at the opponent side of the PIFF street and next to sea. It is popular seafood market in Busan which has 70 years history. You can look around this exotic Korean seafood market and eat some seafood you buy there! The merchant will guide you some small restaurant that will cook your fish or shells.












#3. Centum City



Centum city is a cutting edge multi complex which function as a place for Information Techonology, Media, Entertainment, and International Service. Here are exhibition center, shopping center, cultural facility, and park. It has many good hotels, if you go there off-season, you can accommodate with very reasonable price! Hope you enjoy mordernized city in Busan!

Sinsegae Department Store

This is Sinsegae Department Store which has the biggest scale one all across the world! You can enjoy fancy Korean-style spa, Ice Rink, IMAX movie theater, too.











#5 Haedong Yonggoongsa (East Sea Dragon Palace Temple)

 Haedong Yonggoongsa is a Buddhist temple locating next to sea. It was built in 1376 and has great view. Original name was 'Bomunsa'. But while the chief priest had prayed for hundred days, he dreamed that Goddess of Mercy was ascending to heaven by riding the dragon, and then changed the name of the temple as 'Haedong Yonggoongsa'. Here are many statue of Buddha and symbolic places you can pray for specific wishes. For example, it has 108 stairs meaning you will live longer until 108 years old. Also, Here is a Duknambul. When you touch its nose and belly, you can have a son!
